It assumes a 10-year period of formal education (classes I-X). The English language medium has been chosen in accordance with the New Education Policy proposals from 1986. Students in ICSE must show up for a total of six topics as well as productive social work.

ISC(Class XIIth): After completing a 2-year programme of study beyond the ICSE test or its equivalent, candidates for the Indian School Certificate examination are eligible to sit for it. According to the New Education Policy’s 1986 recommendations, the test has been designed with English as the medium of instruction. English is required of all enrolled students, along with three to five elective subjects, a passing grade in the course’s socially useful productive work, and community service.

CVE(Year 12): The Certificate of Vocational Education test is specifically designed to assist and prepare students for chosen professions. The board provides the time-table for the ICSE compartment exam as soon as the results are known. Students who don’t get pass certificates are still allowed to show up for the compartmental exam in one of the subjects where they didn’t get the passing grade. Nonetheless, in order to pass the ICSE exam, the pupils needed to receive the passing grade in English (which is a requirement) and three other disciplines. The head of the relevant school submits the entries of all students to the Council online.

Students who were successful in passing all four subjects, including English, but failed one other subject will be permitted to take the compartment test. Pupils need to study well for the exam by referring to the ICSE 10th exam pattern.

It should be noted that each subject’s passing score constitutes 33% of the final score. Excellent achievement is indicated by grades 1 and 2. Grades 3, 4, and 5 denote a passing grade with credit, grades 6 and 7 denote a passing grade, and grades 8 and higher denote a failing grade. This grading scheme is employed by the board to evaluate students’ performance.

The ICSE Class 10th exams use the same CISCE grading scale. The distinction between internal assessments and external exams is the sole one in the grading scheme.
