Alliance School of Film and Media Studies Admission Process

Alliance Selection Process is designed for holistic evaluation of the candidate based on the following parameters: Past Academic Performance; National Test Scores followed by a Personal Interview. The applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles. They are also expected to meet the qualifying scores in at least one of the entrance exams. Each of the profiles are scored by a panel based on the overall performance and past academic record. Extracurricular activities such as sports or cultural activity achievements at state and national level are also considered in the profile evaluation.

EVALUATION PROCESS

All applications are reviewed by the selection committee. Candidates are evaluated based on the candidate’s performance in the national entrance exam or Alliance entrance exam, academic performance through school and college and their involvement in extra-curricular activities and the performance in various aspects on the selection day.

Career Advancement and Networking (CAN) aims at helping students in achieving their career goals. It helps the students in better understanding their career, exploring new possibilities, guiding them on career paths, preparing them for interviews, and navigating them from the tangled web of job searches. CAN facilitates various guest lectures, corporate events, seminars, in-plant training, certificate programs, workshops, live projects, industry exposure visits for the university graduates.

One-on-one career counseling sessions by the Office of Career Advancement and Networking (CAN), examine the interests, skills, and competencies along with regular scrutiny of the academic growth of students to help, guide and support them at each stage of their journey. Alliance School of Film and Media Studies Scholarships

Scholarships are offered to students across all programs. Merit scholarships based on National Entrance Exam Scores and Academic Results are announced by the Alliance Scholarship Committee. Scholarships worth Rs. 6 Crores available for meritorious students. Category-based scholarships are offered by the Registrar’s office on a first-come, first-served basis.

MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

These scholarships are specifically created to recognize and support outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, talent, or other achievements. By recognizing and rewarding excellence, merit-based scholarships motivate students to work harder, achieve more, and pursue their goals with greater determination. For these reasons and more, we are pleased to offer a range of merit-based scholarships to deserving students, and we encourage all eligible students to apply for these valuable opportunities.

CATEGORY-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Differently Abled:

Applicable as per the provisions of the RPwD Act, 2016 to all the categories of disabilities identified. A student with 40% permanent disability of the mentioned categories and with a Unique Disability ID from the Government of India will be considered for the scholarship.

Defence and Paramilitary Quota:

Serving personnel; ex-servicemen; retired personnel and deceased personnel or their dependents from Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Coast Guard, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), National Security Guards (NSG), Special Frontier Force (SFF), Assam Riffles, Border Road Organization / General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF), Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Military Engineers Service (MES) and Defense Security Corps (DSC).

Sports International Level:

A player who has represented India in any International Sports Competitions approved by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports/ SAI/ IOA/ FISU/ National Federation of Concerned Games approved by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports/ Association of Indian Universities/ School Games Federation of India. The student must obtain a certificate from the concerned authorities of the sport. The candidate should have participated and won in the International level sports/ games conducted by the competent authority.

Sports National Level:

A student who has represented for the state in any competition conducted between the last two consecutive calendar years at the national level in Individual/ Teams approved by the Ministry of Sports/ Sports Federation/ AIU. The student must obtain a certificate from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports/ National Federation/ Board of concerned games only. The candidate should have participated and won in the National level sports/ games conducted by the competent authority.

Domicile:

The student should have studied and passed in one or more Government / Government recognized educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from 1st standard to 2nd PUC / 12th standard as on 1st July of the year in which the candidate is seeking admissions to and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10th standard or 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination from Karnataka State. In case of the candidate who has taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the year of academic study is counted as one year only.
