What is the purpose of the CAT Exam?
The objective of CAT exam is to provide uniform marks for admission to all colleges. All the participating CAT MBA colleges release the cutoff based on the CAT score and call the individuals for further rounds. Applicants who want to do MBA from top colleges in India must apply for CAT exam. Apart from IIMs, 88 non-IIM institutes use their scores for admission to their MBA courses.
Who conducts CAT Exam?
CAT 2022 will be conducted by one of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on a rotational basis. There are 20 IIMs in India and every year one of the IIMs conducts the CAT exam. Now the question arises that CAT 2022 will be conducted by which IIM. CAT exam is usually conducted in November every year and the official notification is released in July.
Which IIM will conduct the CAT 2022 exam will be officially released online within a few days on the official website of the exam. Last year IIM Ahmedabad conducted the CAT exam. CAT Exam Time

CAT Exam Eligibility
Candidates who want to appear for the upcoming CAT exam must know its eligibility criteria. The basic qualification is a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent. Every applicant must check the CAT exam eligibility criteria before applying for the exam to avoid disqualification at a later stage.
In 2021, IIMs had abolished the minimum grades (45 percentile and 50 percent [or comparable CGPA]) to appear in the CAT exam. This exception was made to ensure that the representation of candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degrees in 2020 and 2022 is fair. Candidates can enter the “Promotion/Pass” option in CAT application form instead of marks.
Age Limit for CAT Exam 2022
As per the CAT exam eligibility criteria, there is no upper age limit for CAT exam 2022. There is no age limit as long as the applicant fulfils other CAT eligibility.
CAT Exam Educational Qualification
Candidates having the following educational qualifications can apply for CAT Exam 2022.
- Must have completed Bachelor’s degree recognized by UGC with 50% marks for general category and 45% for SC, ST and PWD/ DA category.
- Applicants having a professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with a minimum required percentage can apply for CAT exam.
- Candidates in the final year of graduation degree with the required percentage can also apply.
CAT Exam Reservation Policy
The reservation policy for the CAT exam is as per the legal requirement of the Government. The details are as follows:

CAT 2022 Exam Centre
The CAT 2022 exam will be held at various exam centers across the country. Candidates have to select the preference of test cities at the time of application form. The allotted CAT exam center details are released on the admit card. CAT 2021 exam was conducted in 156 cities across India. CAT 2022 Exam Pattern
