CBSE Board Class 10th result will be release on 20 June 2021, Check new marking scheme

CBSE Class 10th Result will be Release Soon

The Central Board of School Education (CBSE) declared a special marking scheme for Class 10 students in its associated schools on Saturday after the Class 10 Board exams were cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The results, which will be released on June 20, will be based on students’ success in unit exams, the half-yearly assessment, and other factors. The Board declared Saturday the results of the pre-Board examination conducted by colleges, as well as the results of the pre-Board examination conducted by schools.

The unit test will be worth 10 points, the mid-term assessment will be worth 30 points, and the pre-Board examination will be worth 40 points, for a total of 80 points.

According to CBSE rules, the remaining 20 marks will be used for school-based internal evaluation.

The three categories — unit test, mid-term exam, and pre-Board exams — were used to describe the special marking scheme, according to the Board, since they are common to most CBSE-affiliated schools.

To parse the results, all CBSE schools have been instructed to form an internal result committee comprised of the principal and seven teachers. If a school has administered more than one test or exam in each of the three categories, the resulting committee will be free to assign a weighting to each test/exam within that category, subject to the total maximum marks awarded to that category.

“For example, if a school has completed two or three pre-Board exams, it will decide to take the average of the three exams, take the best performance in the three tests, or assign each exam a weightage as considered appropriate,” according to the Board’s notice.

In the event that the school has not conducted one or more of the above three types of tests/exams, the school’s outcome committee will establish an 80-point evaluation criterion. The notification notes, “The reasoning for the criterion should be well thought out, objective, and written in the form of a Reasoned Document describing in detail how the school-assessed marks have been calculated out of 80 in these situations.”

The Board has told schools that the marks awarded “shall be in consonance” with the school’s past performance in the Class 10 Board exams, in order to prevent mark inflation. Schools have been given until May 25 to finalise their results and send them to the Board by June 5. By June 11, the internal appraisal marks (out of 20) must be submitted. On June 20, the CBSE will release the Class results.

According to the CBSE notice, any applicant who is dissatisfied with the marks assigned to him or her will be given the opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to holding the exams.

The announcement of the special marking scheme comes only two weeks after the Union government cancelled the Class 10 exams due to rising concerns about a Covid-19 outbreak in the region.

On the other hand, the Class 12 Board exams have been postponed, and the Education Ministry will review the situation on June 1 to determine new dates and make an announcement at least two weeks before the exams begin.
