The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has created modifications within the categories nine to twelve examination papers. The CBSE circular on Gregorian calendar month twenty-two mentioned that the choice was taken to implement competency-based learning as mentioned within the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). In its circular to heads of CBSE related faculties, director (academics) Joseph Emmanuel aforementioned, “While the general marks and period of examination shall stay same, amendment within the composition of assessment tasks would facilitate the North American nation accomplish the required ends.

Therefore, within the forthcoming sessions, a larger range of Competency-Based queries or queries that assess the applying of ideas in real-life/ unacquainted things are going to be a part of the question paper.”

According to the changed question paper for categories nine to ten, thirty per cent of the queries are going to be competency-based within the kind of multiple-choice queries, case-based queries, source-based integrated queries or the other varieties. the target queries are going to be twenty per cent, the remaining fifty per cent are going to be the short answer/ long answer queries.

For categories eleven to twelve, the competency-based queries are going to be twenty per cent, objective questions- twenty per cent, remaining sixty per cent are going to be short answer or long answer queries.
