About RV University
RV University is a State Private University established in the state of Karnataka with RSST as the sponsoring body through Act No. 34 of 2019 passed by the Karnataka Legislature. The mission of RSST and RV University is “Excellence in Education with Social Commitment”.
Rashtriya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE or RV College of Engineering, Rashtriya Vidyalaya Tantric Mahavidyalaya) is an autonomous private technical co-educational college located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. RVCE is recognized by the Government of India as a Center of Excellence under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program.
Established in 1963, RV College of Engineering (RVCE) boasts 13 engineering departments, a school of architecture, and a master of computer application (MCA) department. Affiliated with VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University), RVCE holds academic autonomy for undergraduate courses such as B.Tech/BE, granted by the university.
Managed by the Rashtriya Shiksha Samiti Trust, with administrative offices located in Jayanagar, Bangalore, RVCE is under the chairmanship of Dr. Panduranga Setty.
Admission Process
The different courses have different admission criteria. For B. Tech students have to follow the below-given process;
- 10+2 or equivalent (CBSE, I SC, IB, Cambridge, State Boards, and other Govt. recognized boards) with minimum aggregate marks of 60%
- GCE/IGCSE/GCSE examinations of the approved British Examination Bodies, with a Minimum 5 (of five) subjects in A, B, and C Grades including English at ORDINARY (“0”) Level and 2/3 subjects at ADVANCED (“A”) LEVEL has been equated with +2 stage qualification.
- International Baccalaureate Diploma Courses — Candidates should secure 24 points with a minimum of three subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three subjects at Standard Level (SL).
- Based on the performance in RVSAT and RVU Selection Processes
- Students are admitted to undergraduate courses on the basis of their performance in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test or COMED-K Test. B. Tech/BE Aspirants also take admission through a management quota, which does not Place merit required. There is a lateral entry scheme, by which diploma degree-holder students can directly enter the second year of study in engineering. Upon graduation, students obtained the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. Students are admitted to postgraduate courses on the basis of their GATE test scores as well as their postgraduate Karnataka CET scores.

Achievements
RVCE has been recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Government of India. In 2008, the college had the highest number of gold medalists among colleges affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University. The Mechanical Engineering department of RVCE is the first-degree program in the state in a private institution recognized by the National Accreditation Board.
