Vellor Institute of Technology (VIT) established in 1984 under section 3 of the UGC (University Grand Commission) 1956 as self financing institute called as vellore engineering college. In 2001 ministry of human resource of India conferred the university status. VIT provides quality higher education of international standard. VIT conduct admission entrance test for admission in B. Tech courses in the university with name of VITEEE. The students who want to appear this exam they must pass 12th class exam with 60 percentage marks of aggregate in Physics, chemistry, math/biology for general categories & 50 percent aggregate marks for schedule cast & schedule tribe. The exam usually conducted in the month of April every year but due to COVID-19 the exam got extended. The new schedule of exam date has announced, the date of exam will held between July 29, 2020 to August 2, 2020. The exam pattern & syllabus remain same. Exam will conducted online mode with up to 124 cities in three different sessions with math or biology, physics, chemistry and aptitude in multiple choice questions (MCQ), each question will be of four with no negative marks.
VITEEE had received higher number of applications for admission test, last year there are 1.63 lakh candidates had register for the entrance exam. VITEEE also offer scholarship to meritorious students. The students who hold the 1 to 50 rank in VITEEE they can get fee waivers.
