Few days left for CAT 2019 Exam

CAT 2019 will be conducted on November 24, 2019, in online mode. IIM Kozhikode has released the test day instructions and guidelines for CAT 2019. CAT is the most awaited National level management exam and one of the difficult entrance exams for getting an entry in top management colleges. It is conducted every year by the Indian Institutes of Management on a rotational basis. CAT scores are accepted by top management institutes of India including IIMs and more than 1000 other institutes. A few days are left for this exam.

Registration for CAT 2019 started on August 7, 2019, from 10 am onwards and continued till September 25, 2019. Application forms for the exam are released in online mode. Every year the conducting IIM releases the mock test for the CAT exam to give candidates an idea about the exam pattern and about how to navigate through different sections. CAT mock test is really beneficial for those who take it seriously and practice like a real CAT exam. CAT 2019 Admit Card is available for download. It has been released on the official website from October 23, 2019. Candidates can download the Admit Card from the official website.

CAT is an online exam of three hours so the candidates must relax before starting the exam. There will be a total of 100 objective types questions which include both multiple-choice and non-multiple choice questions. As per CAT 2019 Exam pattern, there will be three sections named Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DI & LR). Each question is of three marks and there will be a negative marking of one mark for each wrong attempt.

IIM Kozhikode will conduct the CAT 2019 exam in more than 156 cities across the Country. Last year the exam is conducted in only 147 cities. So there is an increase in the exam cities. The total number of CAT 2019 exam centers is 376 located in 156 cities. This year there is a total registration of 2, 44,169 which indicates that the figure has gone up. Last year, the total number of applicants who registered for CAT was 2, 40,338. CAT 2019 Result will be released by IIM Kozhikode in the second week of January 2020.

 Important instructions on CAT 2019 Exam Day

  • Candidates must not get late on the exam day, try to reach half-hour earlier to avoid problems.
  • Stay relaxed and cooperate with the test center staff for frisking and verification.
  • If you need any help, ask the invigilator during the exam.
  • In the exam hall, provide your attendance by signing the attendance sheet
  • Candidates have to do biometric registration where the candidate’s left-hand thumb impression is required
  • Avoid talking to any fellow test taker as this may be treated unfairly.
  • Don’t argue with the test center staff.
  • Mobile phones, Bags, Wallets, jackets, any kind of jewelry, electronic gadgets, etc. are not allowed in the examination hall.

  • Identity proof with a photo attached in it.
  • Medical Certificate and Scribe affidavit (If applicable).
