Times Higher Education is known as THE. THE World University is working for Times Higher Education (THE) magazine and publishing world university ranking every year. From 2004 to till 2009 THE collaborated as partner with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) to supply data. QS is education and career advice company. Then THE collaborated with Thomson Reuters for new system of ranking to period of 2010 to2013. The collaboration with Elsevier from 2014 to till date, to ranking of universities to use the data.
The ranking methodology contained 13 separate indicators grouped under five different categories:
- Teaching (30 percent of final score),
- research (30 percent),
- citations (research impact) (worth 32.5 percent),
- international mix (5 percent),
- industry income (2.5 percent).
These are the methodology using for ranking of universities.
Times ranking had declared for the year 2021,again none of the India University stood in top 300,even the Indian institute of science or IIsc Bangalore did stoop in top 300, it’s in 301 to 350 ranking by the Times World Overall University of Oxford , United Kingdom ranked at top revel.
Times World University ranked these Universities on the basis of following categories like teaching, Research, Industry Income and International outlook. The Indian University Jamia Millia Islamic (JMI) of New Delhi has shown a quiet improvement in its ranking in global ranking and maintain the face of Indian University
Indian institute of technology (IITs) : various IITs like IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Mumbai, IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati. They all have boycotted the ranking, the new IITs participated but their rank slipped somewhere in 302 to 350. The performance of total 1572 higher education institutions or we can say that total 93 countries institution were participated
China University competition was with UK and USA University. Uk University of Oxford stood top among all and from the last five years USA has lost 4 position among overall top 200.
China Tsinghua University first Asian University to reach in world University among top 20. From India total 63 University were qualified by none of them stood in top 300.
It was an official released by Phil Baty, Chief Knowledge officer at Times Higher Education (THE).
