SC to hear a petition against offline CBSE, CISCE; The petition, seeking a hybrid option in the upcoming board examination, has claimed that the entire exercise of the board in conducting the examination of one or more semesters only in offline mode is completely unwarranted.

The Supreme Court will today hear a plea seeking a direction to CBSE and CISCE to issue a revised circular for the upcoming class 10 and 12 board exams to be conducted only in hybrid mode instead of offline mode amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The petition, filed by six students appearing for the upcoming board examinations, came up for hearing before a bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and CT Ravikumar.

The petition, seeking a hybrid option in the upcoming board examination, has claimed that the entire exercise of the board in conducting the examination of one or more semesters only in offline mode is completely unwarranted.

SC to hear petition against offline CBSE CISCE; Students has filed the petition  in the Supreme Court seeking a direction to central board of secondary Education (CBSE) & Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to issue a revised circular to conduct the upcoming class 10 and 12 board exams only in hybrid mode instead of offline mode amid the COVID-19 pandemic. .

The petition, filed by six students who appeared in the board examinations, has alleged that the entire exercise of the board in conducting the examination of semester one or semester one only in offline mode is completely unwarranted.

Due to COVID-19 Infection

SC to hear petition against offline CBSE, CISCE; The petitioners have argued that the offline examination has put them at risk of COVID-19 infection. “Continuous exposure through offline examinations rapidly increases the risk of infection in COVID-19, making the impugned action arbitrary and infringing on the right to health,” he said.

SC to hear petition against offline CBSE, CISCE; As per the date sheet announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the term-1 board exams have already started from November 16. with minor subjects. CBSE Term-1 board exams for major subjects will start in December. The term-1 board examination of Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will begin from November 22.
