Various Private Universities and Engineering Colleges cancelled their Entrance Test and taking admission on XII score

Due to COVID-19 various private universities and colleges had cancelled their B. Tech entrance examination and taking admission in B. Tech course in basis of 10+2/Intermediate/PUC score. The class 10+2 marks rarely decided admission in B. Tech courses because almost every private universities conducting their own entrance examination for admission in B. Tech course, this year due to COVID-19 crisis most of the private universities have decided that admission of present academic year in B. Tech will take basis of 10+2 marks and JEE main scores.

Vellore Institute of Technology, SRM University, Amity University they all conducting their own test for admission in B. Tech source but due to crisis they have decided that will take admission in the basis of 10+2 and JEE main score.

Mr. V Rajasekar Head of admission cell in Vellore Institute of Technology said that “we will not be able to hold VITEEE owing to the prevailing COVID-19 crisis. A committee has been set up to formulate the method for admitting students based on their class XII marks. The students rank will be decided on the basis of their score in class XII and JEE main”.

AMITY Universities also cancelled the entrance exam for various courses including engineering. Mr. Balvinder shukla, Vice Chancellor AMITY University said that “Admission in the various engineering program in AMITY University till last year was on based on AMITYJEE. The admission process this academic year has been altered due to COVID-19 crisis, the students will get evaluated for admission in AMITY University this year by video session and screening conducted by AMITY University admission cell based on the eligibility criteria. Student must have 70% marks in PCM for computer science and minimum 60% for ECE/ME/CE/IT in B. Tech courses”.

Mr.RL Raina Vice Chancellor of JK Lakshmipat University said that “The university has set up the cut off score for admission to various branch in engineering based on the application received from students for admission in B. Tech courses. Computer science has the highest cot off among the other branches. For the computer science students must have 60% in PCM while the students must have 50% marks for other branches”.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) has decided that they will conduct the LPU National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for admission in new academic year B. Tech courses. Due to COVID-19 crisis examination of LPUNEST has shifted to online. This year LPUNEST will conduct only online mode. Beside XII and JEE main score will the play key role for admission in LPU University.

Mr Rajeev Sobti Dean Admission in LPU said that “Students must have score 60% marks in XII examination for admission in LPU B. Tech courses. University is conducting LPUNEST online exam. The university is holding remotely proctored online exam where in one proctor will manage eight to ten students. The online exam is mandatory only for candidates who are aspiring to take admission in B. Tech courses. However for other courses conducting the test is not convention”.
