West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination which is commonly known as WBJEE is a state-government organized test which is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.  WBJEE is conducted for admission to many private and government engineering institutions in West Bengal. This exam offers admission into engineering, technology, architecture and pharmacy courses offered by different colleges/universities in West Bengal. The test is taken for admission to graduation (also known as Bachelors) courses, so any candidate can give this exam after completing his/her 12th grade in the science stream. The exam is meant for those who have studied Pure Science stream in plus two levels with the core subjects like are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Registration for WBJEE has been started from October 18, 2019. The exam will be conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) on February 2, 2020, in two sessions. Admit for the same will be released in the month of January 2020. Every year more than 3 Lac students appear for the examination and the number is increasing year by year. Candidates who wish to appear for WBJEE can apply for the exam in online mode only. The examination will be conducted in offline mode in the month of February. But only those candidates can apply for the exam that satisfies the eligibility criteria laid down by the WBJEEB.

WBJEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the form of WBJEE 2020, a candidate must check whether he/she falls in the category of an eligible candidate or not. Ineligibility would result in the cancellation of the admission. So it is necessary to check the eligibility conditions laid by the concerned authority before proceeding for registration. Eligibility criteria for appearing in WBJEE 2020 are mentioned below:

  • Domicile: West Bengal Domicile certificate is required only if the candidate is applying for Government college on the basis of category reservation.
  • Nationality: The nationality of the candidate must be Indian
  • Age limit: The minimum age limit is 17 years. There is no upper limit in age except for a marine Engineering course where the upper age limit is 25 years.
  • Qualification: Candidate must have passed 12th standard with compulsory subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must have passed class 12th with an aggregate of 45% marks. For the reserved category, 40% is mandatory.

WBJEE 2020 EXAM PATTERN

WBJEE will be conducted in two sessions. There will be 2 papers in Exam namely Paper 1 which consists of Mathematics Questions and Paper 2 containing Physics and Chemistry questions. Candidates taking both the paper will be eligible for admission in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy programs. Candidates appearing in Paper 2 only will be eligible for admission in only pharmacy programs (except in Jadavpur University) and candidates taking only Paper 1 will not be eligible for admission in any program. WBJEE 2020 will be conducted in offline mode on OMR Sheets. It is a 2-hour duration exam, containing 155 questions. The maximum marks allotted are 200. There is negative marking in the questions category of 1 or 2. There is no negative marking in the question of category 3.

WBJEE 2020 Admit Card

Only those candidates can access the Admit card who has successfully registered for WBJEE 2020. Admit card for the exam will be released by the conducting authority on January 27, 2020. The Admit Card will be made available on the official website of WBJEEB i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in. Candidate can download the Admit card as soon as it is available on the official website by logging in with their ID and Password. Admit Card contains very important information like the candidate’s name, exam time and address of the exam center, photograph & signature, etc. It is a very important document as candidates are not allowed to sit in the exam without it. So, verify every detail mentioned on the Admit Card and report to the concerned authority in case of any discrepancy.

WBJEE 2020 Application Process

Candidates can fill the application form of WBJEE 2020 by visiting its official website. The application form is available on the official website from October 18 to November 13, 2019. November 13, 2019, is the last date to register for WBJEE 2020. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before proceeding towards the registration process. The following are a step to fill the application form of WBJEE 2020.

  • Go to the official website of WBJEEB i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in.
  • Click on the “Registration for WBJEE 2020” button.
  • Enter your personal details, mobile number, and valid email ID
  • Then submit it, you will receive registration number and password on the mobile number and email ID.
  • Now, log in again using the credentials
  • Fill WBJEE Application Form 2020 properly.
  • Enter your information regarding your domicile, category, PwD status, home district, family income, nationality, religion, 3 preferred Exam centers, and other details.
  • Now, upload a passport size photo of 4cm × 3cm dimension and signature of 4cm × 1.5 cm dimension.
  • Now, pay WBJEE the Application Fees using Net banking, Debit Card and Credit Card.
  • Download the confirmation page ensuring the application process is completed.

WBJEE 2020 Syllabus

Syllabus of WBJEE is based on the syllabus of 11th and 12th class. Questions of WBJEE are based on the syllabus of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The syllabus contains every single topic of the 12th science stream. So don’t leave a single topic from physics, chemistry Mathematic, Biology. Candidates can practice using the books of their 12th and 11th class.

WBJEE 2020 Exam Centers

WBJEE will be conducted in 25 cities by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB). These cities are further divided into several zones. The candidate has to select his/her preferred exam center during registration. Candidates must remember that the exam center once selected cannot be changed. As per WBJEEB norms, Exam Centre 2020 once gets allotted to the candidates is final and the request for change of exam center will not be entertained by the concerned authority.

WBJEE 2020 Result

WBJEE Result will be released in the month of June and counseling for the same will be started as soon as the result gets released. The result will be available in the form of a rank card. Students can download the result from the official website of WBJEEB i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in. For downloading the result candidates have to log in to the website using Application Number and Password. WBJEE Rank Cards will contain all information regarding relevant ranks, total score and component scores in each paper, qualifying status, etc. Candidates must preserve the rank Card as it will be required at the time of counseling and admission.
