PREPARATION TIPS

Only four days are left for CAT registration and only 63 days are left for CAT Exam. CAT Examination is one of the toughest exams; therefore candidates should start preparing for it at least a year ago for clearing it in the first attempt. But if you have not started the preparation yet, then what are you waiting for. Complete devotion is required for clearing the CAT examination in the first attempt with good scores. Following are some of the preparations tips which if followed must prove to be beneficial.

Do regular Practice

You must have heard that practice makes a man perfect, so this is not just a statement. It actually works if followed properly. Regular Practice is the first thing you have to do. No exams can be cleared without practicing and there is no exam that cannot be cleared by practicing. So do as much practice of the questions as you can. Do practice from the last ten years question banks. Try to understand the concept.

Focus on Smart Learning and Time Management

Studying for 8-9 hours in a day will not ensure you a seat in top B-School however, studying smartly for the lesser number of hours can. Do not waste time just watching the book continuously for 8-9 hours instead of that, just study as per your convenience but that must be quality learning. Try to find out your weaknesses through smart learning and then try to overcome that. Give more emphasis to that section of the exam where you find yourselves weaker without leaving the stronger section untouched.

Understand the Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Before starting your preparation, try to understand the pattern of the CAT exam and its syllabus. Once you get acquainted with the Exam pattern and syllabus then your preparation will become comparatively easy. You will get an idea of where you need to put your focus and you can manage your time according to that.

Take Coaching and do Self Study too

Taking coaching will not ensure you good scores in CAT Examination. Self-study is a very important part of preparation. Self-study will make your doubts more clear and if any doubt left in your mind then you can clear it in the coaching center. So do not rely on coaching only. Internet is a hub of knowledge, utilize it properly.

Always prepare Section-wise

Preparing some areas of one section then coming to another section would hotchpotch everything. Try to complete a particular area of a section first then come to another section.
