From 2021 Onward JEE Main to be Conduct in more Regional Language; Say Pokhariyal

JEE Main started in 2002 for the purpose of admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in all 31 National Institute of Technology (NITs), 25 Indian Institute of Information Technology ( IIITs) some government  funding colleges in India also serve as premium selection for JEE Advance for admission in all 23Indian Institute of Technology  (IITs) in India. JEE Main conducted by National Testing agency that is NTA twice in a year in the month of January and April every year. There are two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2. In paper-1 the subject involve in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and paper-2 the subjects are Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing and Planning. Earlier it was both online and offline but now have only online based test with 3 hours of exam duration. Candidates can give maximum three attempts in successive year. The score is 60 to 300+.

Earlier JEE Main the exam is offered in English, Hindi and Gujarati, but the education minister of India announced through his official social media twitter account the exam will conduct more regional language from January 2021, it will be offered in eleven more regional languages, namely Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Odiya, Tamil, Urdu and Telgu

“In line with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) of JEE (Main) has decided to conduct the examination in more regional languages of India,” tweeted Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of Education.

The state Engineering Colleges are decided the admission will be based on an examination conducted in regional languages because JEE Main also conducting examination in regional languages  

“This decision has far-reaching implications as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pointed out that top-scoring countries in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) examination use mother tongue as a medium of instruction. The decision of JAB will help students comprehend questions better and score higher,” said Pokhriyal in the tweet.

There some candidates missed their JEE Advance examination due to COVID-19 and they went to supreme court to conduct the examination again for those students who have missed the examination but supreme court of India denied the request on 28/10/2020. Joint Admission Board (JAB) is the authority and having power to frame the policies, rules and regulations of JEE exam under the guidance of IIT council has considered the relaxation of the eligibility criteria and decided to permit an extra attempt for those candidates who were unable to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2020 on account of being Covid-19 positive.

JAB said that every students should get equal opportunity

“To ensure equal opportunity to all, the JAB has also decided that these candidates will not qualify JEE (Main) 2021 and will be allowed to directly appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021”, said the statement.

The total number of candidates they missed the JEE advance examination in 2020 due to COVID-19 they are eligible for appear the examination of JEE Advance 2021 but the candidates will decide either they will appear or not but Joint Admission Board had announced that candidates are eligible and giving equal opportunity.
