JEE Main 2022 exam is a computer-based online test conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate engineering courses in top Government and private engineering institutes in India. JEE Main is the first phase of the IIT admission Joint Entrance Exam. The engineering entrance examination till 2020 was conducted in two sessions and candidates could take the exam either in the month of January or in April. The aspirant could further opt to appear for both or one exam. The better of two JEE main exams, NTA scores was considered by the exam conducting authority in preparing the ranks/merit list.
However, as per the latest update from the JEE Main officials, JEE Main 2021 exam is being held four times a year. More significantly, based on the marks obtained in JEE Main. Students are granted admission to IITs, CFITs, NITs, and other Government funded technical institutes Also, the top 2,50,000 students from JEE Main Exam (based on score) will qualify to appear for JEE Advanced that conducted by IITs for admission in IITs institutes in India. In essence, the entrance exam will start from February 2022 and go on until May 2022. These are the expectation NTA has not announced any date till today.

About JEE Main 2022 exam
JEE Main exam 2022 will conduct by NTA. The exam will be three papers in JEE Main 2022. Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper 1 will for students who are planning to take admission in B.Tech courses, while Paper 2A will be for admission in B.Arch programs and Paper 2B will be for admission in B.Planning courses. NTA has introduced a new exam pattern in 2021 exam. Meanwhile, the registration and application process for the JEE Main 2022 exam has not yet been announced till the date. In the year 2021 JEE Main (Paper 1) had conducted in four sessions i.e. February, March, April and May sessions. However, B. Arch and B. Planning papers (Paper 2A and 2B) had conducted only twice in a year 2021 in February and May. Further information is given below.
Students appearing for class 12 board exam with Physics and Mathematics are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2022. 2020-21 pass-outs are also eligible to appear in this exam. However, candidates must satisfy the JEE Main eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Failure to do so will result in the application being rejected.
In JEE Main, the difficulty level of the exam ranges from moderate to difficult. If we look at the previous year papers and break them down subject-wise, the Chemistry section is usually the easiest while Physics is found at a moderate level. Mathematics can be considered the most difficult. Most of the questions in JEE Main are direct and NCERT based as compared to JEE Advanced. However, some tricky questions also exist and are designed to test each candidate’s understanding of the concepts as well as their analytical skills. Meanwhile, NTA has set up several practice centers to familiarize the students with the JEE Main exam.
JEE Main 2021 Brief Advisory regarding COVID-19 Pandemic:
Candidates are advised to carry only the following things to the examination venue:
a) Duly filled in admit card (a clear printout on A4 size paper) along with self-declaration (undertaking) downloaded from NTA website.
b) Candidates had carried a simple transparent ballpoint pen.
c) Candidates had carried an additional photograph to be affixed on the attendance sheet.
d) Candidates had carried a personal hand sanitizer (50 ml).
e) Candidates had carried an Individual transparent water bottle.
f) The diabetes candidates had kept with him Sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange).

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria describes all the terms and conditions that candidates must fulfill in order to be eligible for the exam. Age Limit
There is no age limit for candidates who willing to appeared JEE Main exam earlier. However, candidates must note that IITs may set age criteria for admission. The details of age criteria are usually published in the JEE Main information brochure.
Qualifying Exam
Applicants irrespective of age can qualify if they have passed their Class 12th or any equivalent examination such as two years Pre-University Examination, Combined Services Wing of National Defense Academy Examination, Senior Secondary School Examination, Higher Secondary Certificate Professional Examination . , Intermediate or Two Year Pre-University Examination, Diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board, General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination at Advanced (A) Level (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka), High School Certificate Examination. International Baccalaureate Diploma of the University of Cambridge or International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Year
The students should have appeared for the exam in 2020 or 2021. Those who are appearing their class 12th exam in 2022 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2022 exam.
Criteria For admissions in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs
Candidate must have secured 75% marks in their class 12 board exam or should be within the top 20 percentile of their respective board. For reserved category candidates, the minimum percentage required for admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is 65%.
Qualifying Marks
There is no minimum pass percentage in 10+2 or other equivalent examination to appear in JEE Main exam earlier. However, applicants must have passed their class 10+2 board or other equivalent examination.

Total Attempts
Candidates can appear for JEE Main Exam for 3 consecutive years.
Candidate must have secured 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
Mathematics is compulsory in 10+2 or other equivalent examination for the candidates applying for the B.Arch./B.Planning courses.

Reservation Criteria for JEE Main
The examination authority that is NTA follows the reservation norms set by the Government of India to grant admission through JEE Main Exam. All India rank will be awarded on the basis of hierarchical reservation policy. The percentage reservation of categories for admission through JEE Main is as follows:

JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern
Knowing the JEE Main exam pattern is important for candidates who want to prepare for JEE smoothly. It helps the students to develop a clear idea of the marking scheme, distribution of questions, sectional weightage and duration of the exam. There is a new pattern for JEE Main exam. There are three papers instead of two. Paper 1 is for students aspiring for B.E./B.Tech courses in NITs, IIITs, DTUs and other GFTIs while Paper 2A is for B.Arch. Paper 2B is for the B.Planning courses offered by these institutes.
Understanding the exam pattern enables the candidates to get a valuable opinion about the entire exam structure. So, for better results, students are advised to have a complete overview of the paper pattern and prepare a suitable study plan or strategy.
JEE Main Paper 1 consists of Maths, Physics and Chemistry while Paper 2A consists of Maths, Aptitude and Drawing Test. Paper 2B will have questions based on Mathematics, Aptitude and Planning. Candidates can opt for either one or both the papers. NTA has also again increased the number of questions in Paper 1. Now there will be 90 questions but candidates can attempt any 75 questions and the total marks allotted is also 300.
All the papers are completely computer based online test whereas Paper-II drawing section is conducted offline in a pen and paper-based mode. The duration of the exam for all the papers is 3 hours.

The paper will have total 90 questions in which section A will have 20 questions and section B will have 10 questions. Candidates can attempt 75 questions (300 marks) with 20 questions in section A and 5 questions in section B for each subject – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
JEE Main Exam Paper 1 Marking Scheme
- For JEE Main MCQs, 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer marked by candidates. No marks are awarded for questions left unanswered by candidate.
- The marking scheme for numerical based questions consists of 4 marks for the correct answer. There is also no negative marking for wrong answers.
- No marks are awarded for unanswered questions.

JEE Main Exam Paper 2A Marking Scheme
For each correct answer in Mathematics and Aptitude section, 4 marks will be awarded while 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
There is no negative marking for drawing questions.
For the drawing test, marks will be allotted on the basis of the drawing skills of the candidate.
Questions of numerical value will carry 4 marks for each correct answer. There is no negative marking in case of wrong answer or question without attempt.
JEE Main Exam Paper 2B (B.Planning Courses)

Exam durations: 3 Hours
The questions will be from the three subjects included in Mathematics, General Aptitude and Planning Skills.
There will be single correct objective type multiple choice questions in Mathematics and Aptitude. Scheme based questions will also be of MCQ type.
The total number of questions in the paper will be 105 out of which students can attempt 100 questions.
In this paper also, candidates can choose to answer any 5 out of 10 numerical value-based questions asked in the Mathematics section.
JEE Main Exam Syllabus
While NTA conduct the JEE Main exam and prescribes a different syllabus for JEE. JEE Main Exam syllabus is mainly mapped as per NCERT textbooks. It includes the subjects that are covered in class 11th and class 12th, which includes subjects like maths, physics and chemistry.
Note: As per the announcement made by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, the syllabus will remain the same as the previous years. There will be no shortage.

JEE Main Exam Counselling Procedure
The JoSAA that is Joint Seat Allocation Authority, set by the Ministry of Human Resource Development now known as ministry of education to regulate the admission process for IITs, IIITs, NITs and government-funded technical institutes. Students who qualify JEE Main exam will be able to apply for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs through JoSAA counselling.
The seat allotment in the preferred technical institute is done on the basis of merit, merit, preference and seat availability. Qualified students are required to register for JoSAA counseling whose registration will start after the declaration of result.
