JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern: Key Changes and Structure
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced significant changes to the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern for all three papers: Paper 1 (BE/BTech), Paper 2A (BArch), and Paper 2B (BPlan).
Major Changes in the JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern:
Elimination of Optional Questions in Section B:
- In Paper 1 (BE/BTech), Section B will no longer contain optional questions. Candidates must attempt all five numerical value-based questions per subject.
- Similarly, in Paper 2A (BArch) and Paper 2B (BPlan), the Mathematics section of Section B will not have optional questions.
JEE Main 2025 Exam Structure:
Paper 1 (BE/BTech):
- The exam will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- The total marks for Paper 1 will be 300.
- The test will be conducted online in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, English, and Gujarati.
Paper 2 (BArch & BPlan):
JEE Main Paper 2 is divided into two sections:
- Paper 2A (BArch): Consists of 77 questions, carrying a total of 400 marks.
- Paper 2B (BPlan): Comprises 100 multiple-choice questions, totaling 400 marks.
The exam will be conducted online, except for the drawing section of Paper 2A (BArch), which will be held offline.
