Medical Entrance Exams

India’s Pre-Medical test(AIPMT now replaced by NEET-UG) was an annual medical entrance examination in India. The test was conducted by the(CBSE) Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in many medical facilities across the country. 15% of the overall seats in all the medical and dental colleges go by the Union of India, state governments, municipal or other local authorities in India, except in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir, were reserved for only candidates who qualified this examination.

Medical Science could also be a broad term that covers such areas as biochemistry, molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, microbiology, neuroscience, physiology, nutrition, pharmacology, toxicology, vision science, and biomedical technology.

Medical Science - the science of managing the upkeep of health and the prevention and treatment of disease. bioscience, life science - any of the branches of science managing with the structure and behavior of living organisms.

EXAM GOAL

The basic aim of this test was, which was standardized all over India, was to make medical education easily available on an equitable basis to all regions of the country and to foster inter-regional exchange.

Every Year AIPMT was conducted on initial Sunday in the month of May. In 2016, AIPMT/NEET Phase-1 was conducted on 1 May 2016 and NEET Phase-2 was conducted on 24 July 2016.

Medical entrance exams

NEET (UG)

NEET is a national level single medical entrance exam. It conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). All Eligible candidates can apply for MBBS and BDS admissions. It is conducted for providing admissions in MBBS/BDS courses offered by all government and private medical colleges in India. It is a one tier exam, conducted once in a year in the month of May. From the year 2016 onwards, the NEET exam was replaced by the AIPMT exam.  This is degree test for all India quota seats, state government seats, state/management/ NRI seats in private, government medical colleges as well as deemed universities. The syllabus will be based only on Class 11th & Class 12th subjects, chapters & topics. The syllabus will consist of four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology & Botany. The NEET Exam syllabus bought to be ready after review various State syllabi as well as those prepared by the Council Board of School Education (COBSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

AIIMS (UG)

The (AIIMS) All India Institutes of Medical Sciences could be a cluster of autonomous public medical colleges of higher education. Through this examination the admission will be given to the undergraduate medical courses (MBBS). Each year lakhs of students push to compete for admission to 50 seats at this premium college. The candidates aiming for AIIMS Exam 2019 should pass the higher secondary examination from a recognized board and secure an aggregate of 60% in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English. The AIIMS application form can be filled online on official website of institute or collected and submitted in person at the notified center.

JIPMER (UG)

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is the oldest Institution in India providing education in European medicine. It is located in Puducherry. JIPMER offers courses at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and provide admissions to the students only on the basis of its own test and not through AIPMT or any other State Exams. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) comes under the Government of India since the year 1956 and is one of the leading Medical Institutions in India. Spread over a 195-acre campus in an urban area of Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry), JIPMER Exam is 170 km by road from Chennai.

Held in two shifts, the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam is conducted online. The two and a half hour exam will have 200 multiple-choice questions.

  • Physics: 60 questions

  • Chemistry: 60 questions

  • Biology: 60 questions

  • English Language & Comprehension: 10 questions

  • Logical & Quantitative Reasoning: 10 questions

For each correct answer, students will score four marks. For any question left unanswered or answered incorrectly will not be negatively marked. 

NEET (PG)

Organized by AIIMS New Delhi, AIIMS PG Entrance Exam is a national level postgraduate exam. This examination is organized for the selection of students for admissions in MD/MS/MDS/DM/M.CH Courses offered by AIIMS institutions across the country.

NEET-PG 2019 shall be one eligibility speed test for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses’ for the academic session 2019 which will include the following:

  1. DNB Broad specialty courses (January 2018 Admission Session)

  2. All India 50% of seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Telangana)

  3. MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all non-public Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country

  4. State quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all the States and Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Jammu & Kashmir)

  5. MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at defence Forces Medical Services Institutions.

AIIMS (PG)

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Post Graduate Exam: AIIMS PG 2019 is the entrance exam candidates need to apply for various PG medical courses. The test is conducted under AIIMS, New Delhi. Only the scholars who have MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS from a Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India recognized institution can apply. Also, Aspirants should have completed one year of rotating internship on or before July 30, 2019. Applicants belonging to General Category must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate in MBBS, while it is 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category. In the field of postgraduate education, the most necessary perform of each Institute is to provide opportunities for training teachers for medical colleges in the country in an atmosphere of research and enquiry. (JIPMER PG)

It is one of the major PG exams among all the three national level entrance test in the country. Candidates who completed their MBBS from a recognized medical institute along with 12 months internship will be eligible to appear for JIPMER PG exam. The exam is conducted twice in a year in January and July sessions. JIPMER PG 2019 for Jan session endured on December 2, 2018, in online mode. The PG medical entrance examination of JIPMER offers admission to naerly 200 MD/MS courses (100 seats for each session) in JIPMER, Puducherry.

JIPMER PG is a primarly based test with 250 multiple choice questions (MCQs) based on the subjects taught in MBBS programmes.

(PGIMER)

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research  conducted only for admission to PG medical courses and is one of the most competitive entrance examination in India. like AIIMS PG and JIPMER PG, PGIMER is also conducted twice in a year in month of January and July session. Also, like AIIMS and JIPMER, PGIMER is out of NEET PG reach and might conduct its own entrance examination. For the Jan  session, PGIMER 2019 will be conducted on November 25, 2018, and the result will be announced on November 26.

PGIMER is offline medical entrance exam with 250 queries

(FMGE)

Foreign Medical Graduate Screening Exam is a national level screening test conducted twice a year which allows medical graduates to get a permanent or provisional certificate from the Medical Council of India. The medical examination will be conducted within the month of December and June, every year by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). FMGE 2018 for the December session are conducted on December 14, 2018.

FMGE exam contains 300 queries which will be divided into two parts – part A and part B.
