GATE Exam 2021

GATE is a national level entrance exam for engineering courses. Its full form is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is a computer-based test which held once in a year. This exam is conducted jointly by IISc (Indian Institute of Science) and seven IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) on behalf of the National Coordination Board. GATE exam tests the comprehensive understanding of various UG subjects in engineering and science. The score of GATE is used for admission to various post-graduate courses like M.E, M.Tech, Doctor of Philosophy, etc. in Higher Institutes of India. For appearing in GATE exam candidates must qualify the eligibility criteria. It is mandatory to have a bachelor’s degree in  Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture for appearing in GATE. This examination is of 3 hours and it contains 65 questions. The GATE examination is conducted in an online Computer Based Test Mode. The Scores of GATE is valid for a period of three years. Now GATE has opened for international students also. Students from the following countries can appear for the GATE examination.

Financial Assistance

The process and criteria for applying for scholarship could be different for different institutions. UGC and MHRD announced in 2014 to increase the scholarship for GATE qualified master’s degree students by 55% from 8000 to 12400 per month.

GATE Eligibility 2021

Candidates must check the GATE Exam Eligibility Criteria of 2021 before applying for it. Some criteria are laid down by the conducting Institution of GATE for appearing in the examination. If a candidate is found ineligible for GATE, then he will get disqualified from the exam. Eligibility Criteria for GATE is listed below:

1. Age Limit: There is no bar on age for appearing in GATE.

2. Nationality: Candidates applying for GATE must be an Indian Citizen. Candidates from other countries can apply if they meet the required eligibility criteria of Foreign Nationals.

3. Academic Qualification

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Degree in B.E/B. Tech, B.Arch, and B.Sc.
  • Candidate must have completed his/her graduation or equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  • Candidate must score a minimum aggregate of 45% in Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
  • The final year appearing Student of Graduation or equivalent can also apply for GATE 2021.

GATE Registration Process 2021

The Application form of GATE 2020 will release on September 11, 2020, on the official website of GATE. Candidates have to fill the application form if they want to appear for GATE 2021. The following are the steps to fill the application form.

Step 1: Register at the official website of GATE through GOAPs.

Step 2: Now fill the Application Form correctly. Application Form will ask personal details, Academic Details, Preferred Exam Centres, etc.

Step 3: Upload the required documents. Documents required to be uploaded are scanned copy of the Photograph of Candidate, his/her signature, category certificate (if any), etc.

Step 4: Candidates have to pay the application fee after filling the application form.

Step 5: Now submit the application form and take a print out of it.

GATE Pattern 2021         

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a computer-based Entrance Exam. This exam is conducted to check the understanding and knowledge of candidates about various engineering and science undergraduate subjects. The GATE exam is conducted for admission in Post Graduation Courses of IITs and IISc Bangalore. GATE Exam Pattern 2021 could have Multiple choice Questions and Numerical Answer type questions are asked in the examination. A total of 65 questions are asked in the examination. Ten questions are asked from the topics of General Aptitude and the rest of the questions are asked from the discipline opted by the candidate. 1 or 2 marks are given for correct answers (depending on the section) and one-third of marks in case of 1 mark questions and two-third of marks in case 2 marks questions are deducted for incorrect answers. The question paper of GATE is of 100 marks. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

GATE Syllabus 2021

There are 25 papers in GATE. The syllabus for each Paper is different. Candidates have to select any one paper out of 25 papers. GATE 2020 will be conducted by IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi will release the GATE Exam Syllabus for each of the papers at the official website of GATE i.e. gate.iit.ac.in. There are three sections in each paper namely General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics and specific subject opted by the candidate. General aptitude is a compulsory subject. Syllabus of General Aptitude covers topics from Verbal Ability and Numerical Ability. Engineering Mathematics Section tests a candidate’s knowledge of mathematical methods and techniques. The third section is selected by the candidate. The syllabus of each opted paper is different.

GATE Question Papers 2021

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an entrance exam for admission in Post Graduate courses of IITs and IISc Bangalore and other top colleges. Being a national entrance exam, GATE is very competitive. Around 9 lakh candidates appear every year for GATE. The questions paper of GATE possesses many tricky questions that add to the difficulty level of the exam. GATE Admit Card 2021

The admit card of GATE 2021 will be released by IIT Delhi in online mode on January 8, 2021. Admit card is a very important and mandatory document on exam day. Admit card bears much crucial information about the candidate. It is the sole proof of the candidate’s registration for the GATE examination. The following are the steps to download the GATE Admit Card 2021.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System).

Step 2: Log in to the candidates’ dashboard using the User ID and password

Step 3: After successful login, click on “Download GATE Admit Card”, link

Step 4: Your Admit Card will appear on the screen and will get downloaded.

Step 5: Now check it properly and take a few print-outs of it

GATE Exam Centres 2021

IIT Delhi is going to conduct the GATE 2021 examination in February. The exam centers for GATE are spread in different cities of India and Abroad. There are approx more than 195 exam centers in India under 7 zonal IITs and IISc Bangalore. There are six exam centers spread in 6 cities or abroad. During filling the Application form, candidates have to choose three exam centers according to their preference. The first and second selected exam center must be from the same GATE zone. Candidates can select the third exam center from any of the 8 zones. If any candidate wants to change the selected exam centers in the GATE Application form, then he/she has to send a request regarding the change of selected exam centers through the GOAPS website before November 17, 2019.  

GATE Exam Result 2021

The result for all the papers of GATE 2021 will be declared on March 22, 2021. Result for all the 25 papers will be released by the conducting Institution. Candidates can download their result following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 2: Click on the tab “GATE Result

Step 3: Enter your enrollment ID, Registration number and Password

Step 4: Now click on the Submit Button

Step 5: As you click, Result will get appeared on the screen

Step 6: check it properly and take a few print-outs of it for future reference

GATE Cut Off 2021

The cut-offs for GATE 2021 will be released by IIT Delhi. Cut off is the minimum marks which must be scored by the candidate to qualify in the examination. The cutoff of GATE 2021 will be in the form of marks and Scorecard will be issued only to the candidates who score more than or equal to the qualifying cut off of GATE 2021. The qualifying cut off will be subject-specific means it will be different for different subjects. The scorecard of GATE will be valid for three years from the date of announcement of results. The GATE Qualifying cut off will be different from the admission cut-offs released by various institutions for admission in their Post Graduate courses.
