B.E/B.Tech OVERVIEW

The world is transforming and engineers are the ones behind this transformation.  Engineers play a significant role in shaping our society. They use different approaches and techniques to improve the way we live and work. So, making career in this field is undoubtedly a good decision if you are ready to do lots of hard work. Engineering career options are the most captivating and lucrative career path. The first step towards approaching engineering career is to do B.tech.

Bachelors of Technology abbreviated as B.tech, is an undergraduate degree granted after completion of four years of program of studies. This degree is granted by a university or a university accredited institution. This degree program is considered to be a skill-oriented course. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) are the same course which offered in engineering disciplines. This course is regulated by University Grants Commission of India (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Admission to this program is always based on the performance in the engineering entrance exam. Engineering entrance exams are conducted on National level, State level, University and Institution level. Clearing engineering entrance exam is not very easy. Candidates need to practice a lot to crack it in first attempt. B.tech or B.E is done after completion of 12th from a recognized board from science with math stream.  Candidate who have done diploma in engineering can also pursue this course. B.E/B.Tech degrees offer students an opportunity to make career in engineering stream. Both courses are of 4-years duration and are spread across 8 semesters. Candidates can also go for 3-year BE/B.Tech program which can be pursued after Diploma in Engineering. The four year programme offers more rigour to students and covers more with respect to depth of curriculum. Detail information about B.Tech or B.E is given below:

B.E/B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Engineering Entrance Exams

Pursuing engineering courses are not sufficient to grab the best opportunities available to an engineering graduate; doing it from a good institution is very important. There are thousands of colleges offering engineering courses but they all are not providing the same knowledge, and experience. These colleges differ by the pedagogy adopted by them, faculty, academic experience, facilities, recruiters, past placement records, goodwill etc. Doing engineering from a highly reputed college will be more fruitful then doing it from the colleges who just take care of their earnings. It is not very easy to get admission in the prestigious engineering colleges like, IITs, IIITs, NITs etc. because they take admission on the basis of scores in entrance exam.

So, to enter in the Best Engineering colleges you are required to appear for entrance exams of engineering to get the best college and best opportunities. Here is the list of some of the top entrance exams of engineering.

  1. JEE (Mains)

Joint Entrance Exam Mains (JEE Mains) is one of the entrance exam of engineering which is on the top in the list of National level entrance exam for engineering. This exam is organised by National Testing Agency (NTA) In India.  This exam is meant for admission to various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses. The examination consists of two papers. Paper 1 is meant for B.E/B.Tech courses while Paper 2 is for B.Arch courses. The questions are objective-type consisting of four choices.

  1. JEE (Advanced)

JEE (Advanced) is the toughest Engineering Entrance Exam therefore its qualification rate is very low. It is formerly known as IIT-JEE (Indian institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination). This exam JEE (Advance) is conducted once in a year in the month of May. It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) under the guidance of JAB (Joint Admission Board). For appearing in JEE (Advance), candidates are required to qualify the JEE Mains exam.
