Types of JEE Main Cutoff
JEE Main cutoff is usually two types.1) NTA cutoff and 2) JoSA A Cutoff. First released by NTA. The JEE Main qualifying cut off is released by NTA. Second Cutoff release by JoSA. The JEE Main Admission cut off is released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) on behalf of the participating institutes.
JEE Main qualifying cutoff is the minimum score that candidates must secure in the entrance exam for JEE Advanced. On the other hand, JEE Main Admission cutoff is the minimum marks that candidates must meet to get admission in some NITs, IIITs. , CFIT and other participating government or self-funding private institutions/universities.

How to get admission to NIT through JEE Main?
Students securing a minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved category candidates) in their class 12 board exam as well as scoring more than or equivalent JEE Main cut off marks are required to get admission in NITs through JEE Main. will be considered eligible. By participating in the centralized counselling process conducted by JoSAA.

Admission Criteria for Colleges
Importance of Class 12th Marks in Deciding JEE Main Cutoff 2021: From the year 2017, Class 12th marks were not given any weightage while calculating JEE Main cutoff score. Admission to various undergraduate courses offered by NITs, IITs and other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs) will be done purely on the basis of rank obtained in IIT JEE.
However, in order to get admission in IITs, NITs and other CFTIs, students must obtain minimum 75% marks in their class 12th along with JEE Main passing marks i.e. minimum marks in JEE Main to obtain NITs, IITs and CFTIs. should do. Board examination (65% for reserved category candidates) or must be within the top 20 percentile of their respective board examinations.
