XAT Syllabus 2022

XAT Syllabus is the most important thing for those who are planning to appear for it. It is essential to know about the syllabus of XAT before starting the preparation for it. The XAT exam is paper is divided into four sections. Syllabus for each section is different. Syllabus of XAT can be divided as per the sections as:

  • Syllabus for Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning
  • Syllabus for Decision Making
  • Syllabus for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
  • Syllabus for General Knowledge

There are numerous topics which are covered under the above mentioned heads. Topics coming under the four sections of XAT are given below:

1. Syllabus for Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning

This is the first section of XAT. This section is further divided into three sub-sections namely Verbal ability, Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning. These three sub-sections cover different topics. There are 26 questions in this section. The syllabus for these subsections is given below;

Verbal Ability

  • Jumbled Paragraphs
  • Fill in the blanks with correct words
  • Synonyms
  • Antonyms
  • Correction of errors
  • Completion of sentence
  • Completion of Paragraph

Reading Comprehension

  • Passages based on Abstract topics, Science, Culture, Social Issues, Economic Issues, History and fiction.

Logical Reasoning

  • Analogy
  • Clocks
  • Calendars
  • Binary Logic
  • Seating Arrangement
  • Blood relations
  • Logical Sequence
  • Assumption

2. Syllabus for Decision Making

The total Number of questions asked in this section is 22. This section is based on such questions which try to check the decision making capabilities of the candidate. Question asked in this section are generally of problem solving or case solving nature. Questions of Decision making are generally asked from the following topics:

Syllabus for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation

The syllabus of this section is very wide. This section has two parts namely Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation.  Quant’s syllabus covers every topic of Mathematics. 27 questions are asked in this section from quant and data interpretation.  The syllabus and the topics covered under these two sub-sections are following

The questions in this section are based on current as well as conventional G.K. The score of this section are not taken into account for percentile calculation in XAT. 25 questions are asked in this section. The t opics covered under this section are following.
