Overview

Monash University is an Australian University which is located in Melbourne. It was founded 1958 and it was named after Sir John Monash.  It is the second oldest University in Victoria. Monash University’s Motto is “Ancora imparo” which means “I am still learning”. The motto is based on the fact that knowledge never ends. Monash is a member of Australia’s Group of Eight leading research Universities and is the only Australian member of the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities and National Academics.

Monash is a multi-campus University. Four of its campuses are located in Victoria in Clayton, Caulfield, Peninsula and Parkville and one is in Malaysia. It has research and teaching centre in Italy and Graduate Research School in Mumbai (India) and in Suzhou (China). The Clayton campus of Monash University is in Australia and spread to an area of 1.1 km square and it is one of the largest of the Monash campuses. Caulfield campus is the second largest campus of Monash.

In 2016, Monash enrolled 50,000 students for Undergraduate courses and 22,000 students for master’s degree program and research works. Monash University offers courses in various streams and fields. It offers wide range courses in various disciplines. The various courses offered by the university come under the following ten faculties:

There are more than 100 research centers located within the campus of Monash. Some of the centers are Monash Centre for Synchrotron Science, Accident Research Centre, Monash Institute of Medical Research and Australian Regenerative Medical Institute, Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute etc.
