Overview
The history of Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) can be traced back to 1963, when it was started as Ngee Ann College. Its founder, The Ngee An Kongsi, conceived the establishment of a quality educational institution to connect the Chinese-speaking community with its cultural roots during the colonial-rule period. The college has since enrolled in a full-fledged polytechnic, a public institution overseen by an independent council.
