Overview

King's College London or KLC is a public research university which is located in London, United Kingdom. KLC is among the top 25 universities in the world as per QS World University Ranking 2016/2017. KLC is a member institution and founding college of the federal university of London. It is one of the oldest Universities in England. The University was established in 1829 by King George IV and Arthur Wellesley. KCL claims to be the fourth oldest institution of England. Motto of the University is “Sancte et Sapienter” which means “With Holiness and Wisdom”.

The University expanded by merging with many institutions. It merged with Queen Elizabeth College and Chelsea College of Science and Technology in 1985, with the Institute of Psychiatry in 1997, the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals and the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery in 1998.

The University has five campuses spread in different locations. These five campuses are Strand Campus, Guy’s Campus, Waterloo Campus, St Thomas’s Campus and Denmark Hill Campus. The Strand Campus is the first and historic campus which is located on the Strand in the City of Westminster. Guy’s Campus is located near to London Bridge and the Shard on the South Bank of the Thames. This campus offers courses under Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine and the Dental Institute. Waterloo Campus is located near the South bank centre in the London Borough of Lambeth. St. Thomas’s Campus is also located in the London Borough of Lambeth facing the House of Parliament. The last campus is Denmark campus which is situated in the south London near the borders of London Borough of Lambeth.

The King's College London is divided into nine academic faculties. These five faculties are
