IIITDM Kancheepuram Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram is earlier known as III TDM Kancheepuram, and III TD&M Kancheepuram. This is an Institute of National Importance founded in 2007 under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to present design and manufacturing directly Engineering Education, research and to development the competitive advantage of Indian products in global markets. It is one of the 2nd III TDMs, another is located at Jabalpur. It was announced as an Institute of National Importance (INI) by the Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India. This institute was mentoring of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool, its new campus at Chennai. On 1 December 2014, this institute granted the status of Institute of National Importance by the Parliament (IIIT Bill Passed) upon the 5 MHRD funded IITs including IITDM Kancheepuram.
This Institute welcome challenging target, to provide high quality products in Design and Manufacturing through they can be best in the market. This character would create and develop a new generation of Engineers and technologists with the eligibility to lead Indian industries in globally beat economic environment. Through the best training they can improve or increase the combination of cost effectiveness and efficiency along with producing world-class technology at the advance guard.
The vision of the IIIT country, Kancheepuram, IIITDM is mainly focused on realistic target of the Institute to come in the list of best global centre for technical, designing, manufacturing and professional knowledge as a leading technical institute of the country and also makes a unique identity for the development of best quality in human resource along with technical knowledge. The motivation is to focus on energy, entrepreneurship and innovation. Mission of this campus is to produce best technical professional by providing experienced skilled professional training to set better mindset, moral and ethical values and inner strength with the requirement of global business so as to strengthen the national economy. This institute will serve as an inter-disciplinary institution for education and research in the area of product Lifecycle Management (PLM) circumscribe design and manufacturing using the concepts, tools, processes and practices of the industry world over. This would be the world-class centre of excellence in education, research, development and training in Design and Manufacturing.
This campus is providing academic and research programs that join Engineering design, Manufacturing and Management with information technology. The institute offers 13 courses across 3 streams, undergraduate and postgraduate programs which concentrated on IT, Design and Manufacturing in engineering sectors. The syllabus structure of all the program have been made by the IITs, IISC and other reputed Institute faculty members and industry partner. The aims of these programs are to providing solutions to current technological challenge in wide domains like robotics, home entertainment, telecommunication automotive systems, etc. Admission to the undergraduate programmes is based on All India Rank (AIR) in Joint Entrance Examination (Main) (JEE Main), GATE. For the foreigners’ student admission will be based on Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA).

• Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram, was ranked in the 151-200 band among engineering colleges in India by National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2018. In 2019, it was ranked in 197.
• This institute has MOUs with the following- 1.University of Genoa, Italy 2. University of Catania, Italy 3. Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan 4. HITACHI, Japan (Student Exchange program).
• This campus also provides Loan Facility along with Scholarship. Education loan is accepted by the college. MERIT CUM MEANS scholarship is available for who is economically weaker. And they have another scholarship for SC/ST/OBC student.
• Placement services at IIITDM is best, this year placement increased by 40% and 95% student got place with best salary package and have chance internship with international companies. The highest salary package stood at 13 LPA. The median salary gone up to 3.5 LPA.

This Exam is conducted once in a year usually in the month of November on online mode and it is expected that this year this exam will held in the last week of November. The question paper contains 100 questions to be solved in 3 hours. 3 marks are assigned for correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for wrong answer in CAT Exam. English is the only medium of answering the questions. Each question consists of four choices from which only one is correct, candidates have to select the right answer from the given options.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension Section
This section is a combination of two sub-sections namely Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC). The main focus of this section is on the English language skills of the candidates and how they understand and elucidate the paragraphs and Passages. This section consists of 34 questions, 10 questions of Verbal Ability and 24 questions of Reading Comprehension. Verbal ability sub-section consists of questions related to Para-jumbles, Summary based questions, Sentence Correction and Completion. The other sub-section, Reading Comprehension is based on the questions related to Vocabulary, title etc.
Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation Section
This section is also divided into two sub-sections, one is Logical Reasoning (LR) and other is Data Interpretation (DI). A total of 32 questions are asked in this section, 16 questions from both the sub-section. LR section contains solvable questions generally from the topics like inequalities, symbol operations, direction sense test etc. On the other hand DI section is a little difficult and time-consuming section as it consists of several confusing data case lets questions. This section contains tricky question and a little mistake in understanding the case lets can lead the candidates to attempt all the questions from a particular set incorrectly.
Quantitative Aptitude Section
This section is a standalone section which comprises only numerical questions from different topics of Math. A total of 34 questions are asked in this section. This section contains questions based on Basic Arithmetic, Number System, Geometry, Algebra, Modern Math etc. The questions in this section ranges from easy to moderately high and can be answered easily with proper practice of the syllabus of Quantitative Aptitude.
