Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) Guntur, founded in 1976, is one of India's first public universities to be awarded a QS I-GUAGE Lead certificate. The university has NAAC 'A' accreditation and is recognised by the UGC and AIU. ANU Guntur operates two PG centres: one in Ongle (which is entirely self-funded) and another in Nuzvid (aided). On-campus, the university offers 39 postgraduate teaching/research courses.

Acharya Nagarjuna University has received an 'A' grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and it has launched the Centre for Distance Education (CDE). ANU Guntur is affiliated with 450 institutions in the districts of Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasam, which offer UG, PG, PhD, and certificate programmes in Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Mass Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences, Commerce, and Teaching and Education. ANU holds ANUPGCET admission exams for all PG courses offered by the university. The university also maintains a distant learning centre named ANUCDE, which provides a variety of UG and PG courses.
