Overview

The Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT), founded in 1979, was established with the mission of delivering high-quality education in the field of technology, aiming to contribute meaningfully to society. Over the years, BIT has achieved a distinguished reputation for excellence in technical education. This success can be attributed to the unwavering support of the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, along with the dedication of its faculty and students. The institute fosters an academic environment that encourages students to passionately pursue their thirst for knowledge and innovation.

Currently, the Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) offers 13 undergraduate programs, 6 postgraduate programs, and hosts 13 research and development centers, all affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under sections 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act, 1956. In addition, BIT has received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for 9 undergraduate programs and the MCA course. The institute has also been ranked within the 251-300 band by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
