Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad is a public university and an Institute of National importance which was established in 1999 in Uttar Pradesh. The institute is strategically located in Allahabad which is known as the holy city of India. Allahabad city is one of the most populous cities with many economical advantages therefore the one of the IIIT was established there. The institute was established with a mission of spreading technical and management education and becoming a unique and world class center of academic excellence.

IIIT Allahabad spread over 100 acres of land and has a state-of-art infrastructure. The campus is equipped with modern facilities which facilitate learning. The campus is located in the jhalwa locality in Allahabad which offers easy connectivity to all modes of transport. Bamrauli Airport offers the fastest means of air transport and is the nearest airport from the campus. It is a 10 km way from town center and 7 km away from the railway line.

The campus has three computer labs, lecture hall, a huge auditorium, library with numerous books and e-journals and hostel. The hostels are separate for men and women with all the amenities. Sport helps a lot in complete development and growth of the student. This factor is not ignored by the institute as it offers recreation and sports facility like cricket, badminton, football etc.

IIIT Allahabad offers its courses under four departments. These departments are Department of Applied Sciences, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Department of Information Technology and Department of Management Studies.
