Overview

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Bhopal) is one of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, established in 2017 and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) with the objective of providing facilities for higher education, research and training in different fields of Information Technology to meet the challenges faced in the development of the Indian IT industry and the IT market, the MHRD, Government of India has intended to establish twenty-one Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) for information, on a Not-for-Profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis. The partner in establishing IIIT will be the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the governments of the respective states where each IIIT will be established, and industry. Along the same lines, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Bhopal) is a newly established educational institution by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and some industry partners as a Non-Profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) institution.

The capital cost of IIIT Bhopal is recognized as Rs. 128 Crores to be contributed by the Government of India, Government of Madhya Pradesh and third partners respectively in the ratio of 50:35:15. Approximately 50 acres of land has been identified in Bhopal for the establishment of IIIT. Currently, IIIT Bhopal is running from its temporary campus at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, until its new campus becomes operational in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

IIIT Bhopal offers three B. Tech programmes:

•    B. Tech in Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE)
•    B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
•    B. Tech in Information Technology (IT)
