Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara was set-upped in the year 2013 by the Ministry of Human Resource Department, the Government of India under Public Private Partnership (PPP) Act, 2017. Its abbreviation form is IIIT-V and was announced under the Act, the status of Institute of National Importance to observe the development in new technology and to present manpower in the front of global standards for the information technology industry. Having partnership in this project are Government of India, Government of Gujrat, Government of Energy Research and Management Institute, Gujrat State Fertilizers and Chemicals and Tata Consultancy Services. Currently it is operating from its alternative premises at Government Engineering College (GANDHI NAGAR). The Government of Gujrat has allotted 50 acres of land of Dumad, Vadodara and an Academic Block at GEC, Gandhi Nagar for making new campus. 

This campus handshakes challenging tasks, to present the best-quality products in Design and Manufacturing through they can be best in the market. This significance would create and develop a new generation of Engineers and technologists with the eligibility to lead Indian industries in a globally beat economic environment. Through the best training, the leaders will be at the cutting-edge of innovation; creating and applying central technologies that will convert the world of tomorrow, face problem to solution of our business and our society along with global.

The motive of the IIIT country, Vadodara, IIITDM is mainly focused on to produce world-class education to students so that they can be in deep technical knowledge how it including in new technology, creativity, social awareness, entrepreneurial skills and lifelong learning. To achieve realistic target of the Institute to come in the list of best international centre for technical, designing, manufacturing and professional knowledge as a leading technical institute of the country and also generate a vibrant identification for the development of best quality in human resource along with technical knowledge. The mission of this campus is to produce the best technical professionals by providing experienced skilled professional training to set a better mindset, moral and ethical values, and inner strength with the requirement of global business to strengthen the national economy who  can advertise a clear culture which value-based learning, innovation, problem-solving, teamwork, adaption to convert new entrepreneurship.
