Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi is the ninth Indian Institute of Management which was established in 2010. It is located in Ranchi, which is the capital of Jharkhand state of India. IIM Ranchi is the result of extensive support of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta and the Government of Jharkhand. IIM Ranchi is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD), government of India. The institute is given freedom to design its own curriculum and recruit faculty members. The institute has a vision to be among the top 10 b-schools in the Asian region. The mission of the institute is to strive for Holistic development of the individual, institutions and the society.

IIM Ranchi offers specially designed courses and was the first IIM who offered a specialized PGDHRM course for the first time. The institute offers a 2 year PGDM in General management and 2 year fulltime programme on Human Resources Management (PGDHRM), Fellow Program in Management and 18 month part time Diploma in Management (PGEXP). IIM Ranchi has also launched courses for promoting entrepreneurship; a certified Barefoot Manager program is one of them which intend to promote entrepreneurship. This course is designed for illiterate people and school dropouts. This Program is designed to offer market literacy and entrepreneurship skills to those who are not literate.

IIM Ranchi has strong corporate links with many National and International Companies. Some of its regular recruiters are KPMG, Deloitte, Berger, Accenture, IBM, Flipkart, Amazon, Infosys, Google, Capgemini, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, TATA Steel, TATA Motors, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Godgrej, Yes Bank etc.
