Knowing that IIM is exploring its strength by developing the new IIM building in India, Indian Institute of Management is a public business school, located in Sambalpur, Odisha.  The Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur was announced in 2014 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and was installed as  a Society under Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860 on August 19, 2015. It’s newly founded IIM in the country. Very soon it’s continuing its own faculty campus providing the high quality of education, world-class room with all facilities campus on the land of 234 acres of IIM Sambalpur campus at Basantpur. It is expected that it will turned out, during its schedule time.  This institute belongs to the central types of institute. Its counseling is done on the National level. This institute helps to the reserved student who belong to SC/ST/OBC-Non creamy Layer/DAP, they have minimum reserved seat in their faculty such as—SC-15%, ST-7.5%, OBC-Non creamy Layer-27% and DAP-3%.
IIM Sambalpur is presenting 2 years full time course of Post Graduation Programme (PGP) in the Management area and Post Graduation Programme for Working Executive (PGPx) along with PhD course in management. This institute Conducts CAT (Common Admission Test) Exam every year for its PGP course. Eligible applicants will be short-listed according to their performance in CAT and the academic session. The candidates, who are willing to get admission, have to go through a number of processes: CAT examination, PI, Written Analysis Test (WAT). Academic year starts from June/July each year at IIM Sambalpur. 
From the official sources, the fee structure of IIM Sambalpur for the academic year 2018-20 the fees was Rs *13 lakhs- for the PGP in management, including the refundable fees for hostel and deposit. But for the new session 2019-21 is 15 lakhs.
