Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, second generation IIM is also known as IIMU. It is located in Udaipur, the City of Lakes and the historic city of Rajasthan, India. IIM Udaipur is an autonomous body and one of the leading IIM from the list of newly set up IIMs. It was established in 2011 with the approval of both Central and State government. IIM Udaipur is a government funded institution, established with the aim to identify the brightest student talent available and creating a pool of elite managers. In 2009, the Indian Government approved the creation of IIM Udaipur and the Institute officially opened in the year 2011.IIM Udaipur has created an environment for the students, faculty and staff where they can achieve their maximum potential easily. Establishment of IIM Udaipur was approved by government of India in 2009 but it started its operations in 2011 from its temporary campus. This temporary campus is located in Udaipur’s Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU), Rajasthan. In 2016, IIM Udaipur shifted to its permanent campus which is spread on 300 acres of land. Its permanent campus is located in Balicha area of Udaipur, Rajasthan. This land was allocated by Government of Rajasthan for the establishment of IIM Udaipur.

IIM Udaipur has set itself apart from other top educational institutes of India in a very short period of time. In only eight years, it has proved itself as one of the top management schools in India. IIM Udaipur offers two-year regular full-time Post Graduate Program (PGP program. It also offers one-year full-time executive program (PGPX).Both the course are residential programs. It also offers a doctoral level fellowship program in Management (FPM. IIM Udaipur offers AACSB accredited courses in management.

Admission to the programs of IIM Udaipur is done on the basis of one of the toughest National level entrance exam, CAT. Candidate applying for IIM Udaipur’s courses are shortlisted on the basis of CAT cut off released by conducting IIM Udaipur. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview and Group Discussion round and this call is based on academic performance, experience and eligibility and CAT scores.
