Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam has set upped its new generation in September 2015 by ministry of HRD, Government of India, located at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Under the mentorship of Bangalore (IIM Bangalore). The Indian Institute of Management belongs to the most prestigious IIM family Business School in India. Under the Act of Indian Institute of Management 2017, IIM Visakhapatnam is an Institution of National Importance, tries to develop highest standard of global excellence in management, management research and joined the area of education. Currently it is suited in the Andhra University campus in the ‘City of Destiny’, Visakhapatnam but very soon it is going to set up its own permanent campus, full-fledges and word class campus on the land of approx 230 acres. It is expected that it will be furnished or functional by 2021. This institute has made a good image and finest identity in the harmony of IIMs, in very short time.   
IIM has some unique significant feature which makes it different from another institute, having world class configuration comparing to all its temporary campus. Providing all faculties with the PhDs from top-most institution of India as well as abroad such as IIMs and IIT and reported to foreign University. And launched PhD program from the academic year 2019-20 along with Post-Graduate Program for part time course which is the beneficial for experienced professional (upgraded to an MBA for the session 2019-20). From the upcoming year, it’s going to start a new program based on specialized MBA programme in Digital Governance & Management with the help of Ministry of Electronic & IT, approved by Govt. of India.
IIM Visakhapatnam provides the financial assistance program to the student and financial aids opportunity. A student’s annual income with all sources is below INR 6 00,000, those students are eligible for the financial aids. The main motive is that no student should be prevented to pursue the program due to financial problem. Post Graduate Programme students are also encouraged to apply. Most important thing is here that IIM provides hostel facilities also with the high quality of food; double occupy hygiene room and amenities for their own facilities like TV, Refrigerator, Washing machine, Wifi etc. And also includes a library, state of the art classrooms, computing facilities, sports (indoor game like Pool Table, Caroms, Chess, Table tennis ) etc.
