KKHSOU Objectives, Guwahati 

  • To provide access to higher education to large segments of the population and in particular the disadvantaged groups such as those living in remote and rural areas including working people, housewives and other adults who wish to upgrade or acquire knowledge through studies in various fields.
  • To provide opportunities for higher education to a larger segment of the population, including those who are unable to pursue higher education at the appropriate time due to one reason or the other.
  • To strengthen and diversify the degree, diploma and certificate courses related to the needs of employment and necessary for building the economy of the country on the basis of its natural and human resources.
  • To contribute towards the improvement of the educational system in the State by providing a non-formal channel that is complementary to the formal system of education.
  • To advance and disseminate learning and knowledge through diversified means including the use of Information and Communication Technology.
  • To provide education and training in order to develop skills in the various arts and crafts together with raising their quality and improving their availability to the people.
  • To provide counselling and guidance to the learners.

KKHSOU Admission, Guwahati

Admissions at KKHSOU are handled online via the university's official website. In most cases, the admissions process begins in July.

  • Admission to UG programmes is based on merit. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their HSC results.
  • MBA admissions are determined on the MAT/University Entrance Test. Candidates will be chosen based on their performance in one or more of the entrance tests.
  • Admission to the MA and MCom programmes is based on merit. The merit list of shortlisted candidates will be based on bachelor's degree candidates' scores.
  • The University Entrance Test is used to determine PhD and MPhil admissions. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the interview/viva-voice and the marks they received in the entrance exam.

KKHSOU Scholarship, Guwahati 

Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University provides financial aid to worthy and distinguished students through a variety of scholarships.

  • Scholarship for Female Civil Service Aspirants: The scholarship is available to female candidates who pass the UPSC Civil Service (Preliminary) examinations. A scholarship of INR 1,000,000/- is being granted to five female candidates.

 

KKHSOU Facilities 

Digital Library: KKHSOU features a digital library that has administrative papers, E-books, Faculty publications, journals of open learning and research communication, newsletters, annual reports, PhD theses, and self-learning materials. It houses over 18000 print volumes on a variety of subjects. The library is fully computerised, with a SOUL 2.0 ILS (Integrated Library System) and Radio Frequency identification technology.

eBidya: It is a Learning Management System (LMS) for KKHSOU students. It comprises the University's Self-Learning Materials, which include video lectures, and online self-aptitude test, group discussion platforms, an online chat facility, and much more.
