National Institute of Technology Mizoram, earlier known as NIT Mizoram, or NITMZ, is 31st among all the National Institute of Technology in India. NIT Mizoram was one of the 10 newest NITs established by the Ministry of Human Resources Development in 2010 (part of the Government of India, via order no. F. 23-13-2009-TS-III, dated 30th October 2009 and 3rd March 2010). This campus was declared as an “Institute of National Importance” by the Indian Parliament.
