National Institute of Technology, Raipur is also known as NITRR.NIT Raipur, is a public higher education institute which is located at Raipur, Chhattisgarh. National Institute of Technology, Raipur is the one of the oldest institute in National Institute of Technology system, which was installed in 1956 with two engineering disciplines, mining and metallurgy, but it, was inaugurated on 14th March 1963 by the first Prime Minister of India, honorable Jawaharlal Nehru.  It was announced a National Institute of Technology (NIT) by the Government of India on 1 December 2005 and then declared an Institute of National Importance with the passing of the National Institute of Technology Act, 2007, in May2007. The Board of Government of each NIT consists of the Chairman and ten members, which include government, industry, alumni and faculty.  Currently, it is going faster to growth through the World Bank-funded Technical Education
Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP). This Institute welcome challenging task of development of technical education by preparing seasoned graduated in highly advance field of engineering and technology. Through the best training they can improve or increase the combination of cost effectiveness and efficiency along with producing world-class technology at the advance guard.

In the eyes’ sight of India Vision-2020, NIT Raipur as a premier technological institute has revisited its Mission and Vision through a serious mind of thinking in order to tune it to the goals set by India Vision 2020 and future needs of the county. They want to be a leader in technical and management education in India and to establish a unique identity for the development of high quality human knowledge and resource in diverse area of technology and management.   

 National Institute of Technology, Raipur awards 11 engineering disciplines courses in Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) along with architecture program through its Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch). These two courses consists four programs in B.Tech and five n B. Arch. Also offers postgraduate education in science and engineering, leading to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) or Master of Technology (M. Tech.) degree individually as well as a program in computer applications (MCA). Doctoral Program also provided here. NIT Raipur, Admission is done on the basis of Entrance Exam such as- JEE Main, GATE and NIMCET.
