Sri Balaji Society (SBS) was founded in 1998 by the visionary Late Professor Dr. (Col) A. Balasubramanian, who also served as the Founder and Chancellor of Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP). In 2006, SBS relocated to its current campus in Tathwade, Pune, and due to the founder’s dedication and vision, SBS achieved university status in 2019.

SBUP is a sprawling campus comprising four management institutes offering Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs:

• Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM),
• Balaji Institute of Technology & Management (BITM),
• Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB),
• Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resources Development (BIMHRD).

In addition to its MBA programs, SBUP offers a variety of undergraduate programs, including BA, BA (Liberal Arts), BCA, B.Sc. (Actuarial Science), BBA, BBA+MBA, LLB, BA+LLB, and BBA+LLB, as well as a postgraduate program in MCA.

The university also includes Balaji Law College (BLC) and Balaji College of Arts, Commerce, and Science (BCACS), which offers both undergraduate and graduate-level programs. These two colleges, along with Balaji Junior College of Arts, Commerce, and Science (BJCACS), are affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University.
