SSN Institutions, founded in 1996 by Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman of HCL Technologies, is a prominent institution of higher learning with an aim to pursue excellence in education and research. The institutions are named for Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar, the Chairman's father.

The faculty numbers 275, with a faculty-to-student ratio of 1 faculty to every 15 students. There are 201 PhD holders among the faculty, with another 74 in the process of earning their degrees.
