IGNOU Admission Process 

IGNOU admissions for 2021 will be held in two cycles, one in January and the other in July, with the application process for the July 2021 session presently open. The prospectus is free to download, but there is a registration cost of Rs 200 in addition to the programme price. Admissions are mostly based on a candidate's cumulative grade point average in their qualifying degree. The University, however, conducts/accepts the following entrance tests for select degrees, including MBA, B.Ed, Post-Basic BSc Nursing, MPhil, and PhD. The majority of courses at the Indira Gandhi National Open University are delivered via online and remote learning. However, only a few courses are offered in both regular and part-time formats. The University has introduced several new programmes this year, including a PG Diploma in Sustainability Science and a PG Diploma in Digital Media, among others. IGNOU Placements 

The Campus Placement Cell (CPC) of the Indira Gandhi National Open University was founded in 2005 and headquartered at the university's headquarters. This CPC serves as a focal point for all placement-related activities to help its dispersed learner base find work across the country. The Campus Placement Cell (CPC) of IGNOU Delhi serves as a dedicated liaison between students and recruiters. Throughout the year, it holds numerous campus placement drives, job fairs, and skill-building activities at its headquarters, regional centres, study centres, and company facilities.

Reliance Life Insurance, Radical Minds Technologies, Aegon Life Insurance, Aegis Services Pvt. Ltd., Aviva India, and Quikr.Com are among the companies that have hired students from this college for positions such as Business Development Executive (BDE), Associate Executive Sales, Relationship Manager, and Sales.
Furthermore, the number of students shortlisted in IGNOU placement drives increased by nearly 9000 per cent between 2017 and 2019. For further information, see the graph below.
 

IGNOU Scholarship Scheme 

Students from the reserved category (SC/ST) are eligible for IGNOU scholarships. Fee exemption/reimbursement may be available on a case-by-case basis, subject to the University's restrictions. Candidates in this situation may potentially be eligible for government scholarships. Students should get scholarship applications from their state's Directorate of Social Welfare or the office of the Social Welfare Officer, complete them, and submit them to the Regional Director at the Regional Centre. This university's students are eligible for the National Centre for Promotion of Employment of Disabled People (NCPEDP) PG scholarship programme. Such students must apply to the awarding authority.

SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minority/ PWD students can also take advantage of fee waivers, reimbursements, exemptions, and scholarships granted by the UGC/ MHRD and various state governments.

Students admitted to the Agriculture Diploma and Certificate programmes at IGNOU are also eligible for a fee reduction (except for PG Certificate, PG Diploma and PhD). The discount is based on the following criteria:

  • All applicants from rural areas are eligible for a 50% fee reduction provided they produce a domicile certificate.
  • Students in metropolitan areas who are below the poverty line may be eligible for a 50% fee reduction provided they can show proof of income.

Scholarship Scheme 1

1 000 scholarships for students who are differently-abled
The National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation is offering a scholarship (NHFDC)
Eligibility:
1 He or she should be an Indian
- The beneficiary's/monthly parent's income must be less than Rs. 25, 000 (Rs. 3 lakh per annum) from all sources.

Maintenance costs:
Professional Graduate Courses are priced at Rs. 2500 per month (for 10 months)
Professional Postgraduate Courses: Rs. 3000 per month
Amount to be spent on books and stationery:
6,000 rupees per annum for professional graduate courses
Professional Postgraduate Courses: Rs. 10,000 per annum

IGNOU Assignments 

IGNOU course assignments are an important part of the semester-by-semester course structure, and they account for 30% of the overall grade. IGNOU also holds Term End Exams (TEE) twice a year and requires students to fill out test applications to participate.
