CAT Exam Registration 2021

Registration for CAT 2021 will start from the first week of August. The application form for CAT will be available on the official website till the 15th of September 2021. Anyone can register for CAT 2021 from the official CAT 2021 website, The registration process includes the following steps:

Step 1 → Registration on the website to get User ID and Password.

Step 2 → Submission of Application form after entering details by using generated User ID and Password.

Step 3 → Payment of registration fee through online payment mode for completing the registration and application process.

Prerequisite for CAT Registration

  • Candidate must check whether they are eligible or not for CAT before applying.
  • Candidate must have a valid Mobile number and an Email ID.
  • Scanned images of the result of 10th, 12th, and graduation or equivalent exam.
  • Scanned images of colored photograph (passport size not more than six months old), signature and category certificate (if any)
  • Details of work experience (if any)
  • Bank details for payment procedure.

Step 1: Registration Process

  • For registration, go to official website, click on the ‘Register’ button under New Candidate Registration header, and then create your profile there.
  • The Registration form where the aspirant can create their profile appears as follows.

  • For completing the registration process, fill the information details which are required after that generate OTP by clicking on “Generate OTP” button.
  • This will redirect CAPTCHA to fill and to submit the OTP which the candidate has received on his/her mobile number for verification.       

If once the candidate have submitted the form then no change in the entries can be made, so little care is required in filling the form. The Entries in this form can be filled in the following way.

  • Name of Candidate: It must be as it appears in 10th/SSC Certificate.
  • Date of Birth: Correct date can be selected using calendar icon
  • Email Address: It should be valid and unique.
  • Mobile Number: The candidate will receive the OTP and Password as a sms, so the mobile number should be unique and valid.
  • CAPTCHA: It is a box containing a special set of characters. The candidate has to retype the characters in the box provided.

  • After filling the CAPTCHA box, click on ‘I Agree’ checkbox and then submit the form.
  • Within few minutes, a User will generate and this User ID will be sent to the email address and the password will be sent to the registered mobile number only if the candidate has verified the OPT. This is done to complete the registration process.

Step 2: Filling of Application form

  • Log in to the CAT website as “Registered Candidate” by using the system generated User ID and Password.

(In case, if the candidate forgets his/her User ID/Password, then click on the Forgot User ID/Password button on the Registered Candidate Login window. The User ID/Password will be sent to the registered email address of the candidate)

  • After login, the candidate will be redirected to the Applicant Details page. Here, on that page, is a link “Go to Application Form” is available. Click on the link and go to application page.

The Application form is divided into six sections as follow:

NOTE: Read the instructions carefully before filling the form. The candidate can exit and logout from the form any number of times to edit and complete later or Save & Continue each section till the Candidate submit the application form. But if the mandatory information is not entered and required documents are no uploaded then the candidate will not be allowed to continue.

Personal Details

This section is subdivided into five subsections

  • Personal Details
  • Other Personal Details
  • Communication Address
  • Emergency Contact Details
  • Upload Documents

Name of the Candidate and Date of Birth fields will be automatically filled based on the information provided at registration time. Fill all the fields carefully, sample personal details section is given below.

After filling the all the four sub-sections of Personal Details then comes the fifth sub-section i.e. upload documents, the mandatory documents as per the selection are required to be uploaded. The dimensions of the Passport size Photograph and Signature are given below:

  • Scanned Passport size photo should be within the dimension 30 mm × 45 mm.
  • Scanned Image of the Signature should be within dimension 80 mm × 35 mm.

After uploading the documents, click on “Save & Continue” to proceed to next section.
