Indian Institute of Information Technology Gwalior is also known as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology. The institute is abbreviated as ABV-IITM. This university is located in the Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. IITM was established in 1997 and named after the name of the Indian politician Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This institute is recognized as an institute of National Importance by government of India. This institute was set up with a vision of getting global excellence in education economy. The mission of the college is to contributing to the nation by developing innovative leaders and to enhance the teaching methodologies by integrating technologies and management.
The campus of IIIT Gwalior is located near Gwalior fort and spread on 180 acres. This institute is a residential campus and houses several departmental blocks. Students and faculty live on the campus and are provided all the facilities. The campus has academic blocks, lecture theaters, library with a large number of both digital and non-digital stuffs, laboratories etc. There are a total of four hostels one for girls and the rest of the hostels for boys. At its initial stages, IIIT Gwalior operated from its temporary campus which was in Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior (MITS). After the set up of its own permanent campus it shifted there.
IIIT Gwalior offers various programs in two streams, one is engineering and other is Management. It offers two years full time M.tech in various fields of information technology. It also offers Master of Business Administration (MBA), PhD and an integrated B.tech/M.tech or B.tech/MBA program of five years. Some additional programs like Management Development program and Faculty Development program are also offered by the institute.
